This section of the scrapbook is based on two photograph albums put together by Mona Cornford. These were inherited by MCA. The beach photographs  were taken either by Gilbert Cornford or local "beach" photographers.

The outline Walliss family tree shows the relationships to the Aggleton, Cornford and Thurwell families :

In 1881 Alan Walliss (27) was living in Tower Hamlets with his wife Maria (24) [Sims] and were probably recently married since they had no children and were sharing a house. Alan was employed as a Jeweller's salesman and was born in Heckmondwike Yorkshire (although transliteration was problematic: Hickmanwithe (1881) and Heckmondworth in 1891 appeared in the censuses)

By 1891 they had moved  via Bow (where George was born) and Stratford (where Herbert was born)  to Leyton where the rest of the children were born. By 1891 they had four children: as above plus Lilian (5) [who the Aggletons knew] and Ethel (1).

By 1901 the family had moved to another house in the same road, and a further three children were born: Arthur (6) Ernest (3) and Victor (4 months). Alan was not at home at the time of  the 1901 census.

Arthur married  Mabel Cornford c.1920 in London and soon moved to Leeds (probably for Arthur to work for the same confectionery company as Gilbert Cornford. Margaret was born in Leeds in 1921 followed by Barbara c.1923. They returned to London (Wanstead) during the 1930s(?)
